Serene like a seagull when swimming in a sea of tranquility.
To be gulled into boiling rage,
Over thoughts that will go away,
Is an error you must not make,
If you plan on living life without misery.
Be like a rock,
Motionless upon impact when hit by a wave of despair and melancholy.
You may get wet by tears drowning away your smile,
But,
Every drip-drop will simmer down and cool off a mind burning too many miles,
From being driven insane…
The Sea is where your vision should lie,
Rather than promises you always knew were blatant lies,
The second you were barred from shade underneath a tree occupied by waning life.
Heartstrings severed by disputes brimful of words cutting deeper than a knife can,
Through a wet paper bag already ripped from each mask they can no longer hide…
Those you’ve loved regardless of how hard you’ve fought for in a war against Father Time,
We’re all forced to be a part of…
Love.
For some of us,
It is temporary when the vise grip keeping us together loosens from stronger vibrations,
When we’re no longer passengers in the same train of smoke leading us to the wrong destinations,
When we’re no longer surfing in the same oceans of alcohol keeping us bored within drunken waves of temptation.
And,
It’s okay!
Because,
There are lessons learned within each other’s absence…
You can’t give the same access,
To those you’ve given a generous amount of passes,
After they’d haul away your sanity while degrading principles of loyalty over higher monetary classes,
You wish to climb towards while sharing that wealth with a larger mass of,
People struggling just like you.
And,
If that makes you evil in another’s eyes?
Truth is,
You don’t even have to look back twice…
You’re best to leave them in a past we can’t travel back to no matter the outcries!
Echoed in a mind you’re bound to full with laugher anyone can find by,
Looking above at a sky bestowing limitless beauty,
Whether it supplies infinite rays of sunshine,
Or,
Rain showers giving you a chance to outgrow your former self and become the person you’ll be,
If…
You let it all flow behind you in an everlasting wind,
Of change most are too afraid to feel whenever it is time to close our curtains…
