You face haunts me everywhere I go.
Those lips mutating into initials reminding me of a name I’ve crossed out many years ago.
Those eyes glaring into mine every time I stare into the sun until I’m shown,
Each reason I’ve become a failure within your line of sight.
Strands of your hair now sprouting out of stems from roses I dare not brushe my fingertips upon.
Such an image I may never unsee until the day I did,
Unless I stumble upon who’d love to squeeze my hand for the rest of our lives,
Making sure neither of us drown in a painting,
Still wet from blood splatteredon to my canvas over friendly-fired…
But,
How’d that be possible,
If I can’t erase the picture of a woman once prodigal,
Enough to throw away our love at the cost of salvation so priceless?
Nowadays,
I’ll never know as her voice echoes in my mind no matter how desperate I am for silence…
