The day I quarantine,
I didn’t pour a drink.
I set it down for a dream,
To be as clear as each,
Glass full of vodka not single person couldn’t torn away from me.
If anything,
Every kind of company had made it worse.
As keeping friendships afloat became harder going broke after paying visits to a corner full of dirt.
Weeds I had to cut at the cost of a past buried with a smirk.
Staying distant from everything,
And,
Everybody was key.
Closing every door shut for eternity if I were to breathe longer.
I’ve already detonated,
And,
Died from explosions I could not avoid with a shield as weak as the solder,
Holding together what wasn’t adhesive for a poet who wouldn’t bother,
With debauchery I was never fond of…
Being reborn with eyes capable of seeing through the darkness,
All I saw were silhouettes on the edge of a harness,
Tip-toeing by a lake of fire I refuse to swim in…
