Suspended Into Darkness – Day 329, Never Give Up On Your Dreamz

Shirts tucked in mattered more than my glaring depression in middle school.
More visits were paid to the principle’s office than the arms I needed to assure my mind that my life would turn out okay to say the least.
The only solution that was thought to be best was to tie my legs,
Whipped until I followed scholarly commands that didn’t suit the boy I was growing into.
If I would’ve known I’d hesitate to call Her “mom” till this day,
I would’ve ran away to find my own solutions to problems I began to care less about.
But,
Fate works in mysterious ways,
As my penultimate year of high school would prove.
Escaping this life-long misery through a pen,
A journal,
And,
The love from three teachers who knew I was worth more than being a punching bag for a Tyrant’s never-ending sorrow.
Now,
All I tuck is a poem into a page knowing there’s still hope no matter what tomorrow brings…
