Love.
Hardly shown until you’re at the precipice of death.
Whether it’s your rotting flesh,
Or,
A dream you’ve decided to put to rest.
Yet,
The absence of affection is necessary for growth.
When a tree grows,
Some time is spent away from its presence until the leaves cry for water to overflow,
What keeps them standing in place.
Connected roots extending on their own,
While you’re indoors seeking solace from pouring rain…
Should I be marred by the silence banging on my eardrums,
Or,
Should I enjoy the music created every moment I don’t hear from,
Anyone I care about?
I choose the latter…
As it’s the only way to climb out of a prison,
I’ve built from every second I’ve chosen to doubt,
A purpose clearer than my reason to die…
