Church bell chimes flood both eardrums with a vision,
Poured out from His fingertips in drip-drops of,
Blood.
Sweat.
Tears.
All mixed into a cherry red painting brighter than both cheeks when flushed by.
The day He took his eyes off of a sky,
Gleaming with a way out of an eternal abyss.
Hoping to find beauty in an image He can bear to see,
Instead of,
Being too afraid to face the beast He became.
A beast that would be tamed,
Inevitably,
From deprivation It needed more than feeding on,
Flesh and a dream.
A dream going dark for as long as the beast was in control.
A dream illuminated by light shone through a cloud of smoke,
Looking for an aching soul to uplift and console…
