Check Ya Self

Some mornings,
All you want to do is kick back,
Lock and load a gun to shoot a bullet packed,
With a name you’ve been begging to erase.
But,
I’m the kind of guy that’ll leave you bleeding on the ground,
And apologize for any pain I may have put you through…

Don’t even know why.
The misery of another person will never let me feel satisfied.
If you think about it,
Anytime I’ve felt the same way,
Never have been happy in my own sadness nor smiled as I cried.
So,
Why would another’s tears ever leave me fulfilled?
If anything,
It left me some Tree and a leaf to fill!
Blunt?
I had to be!
If I were to keep rolling how I have been on a Hill,
Of my own blessings…

A Peace I’ve gained no matter what Divide attempts to break me.
Joy itself is enough to phase these,
Imitations in the making.
Waking up just to syphon some energy,
From Light beaming off of a talent bound to make it.
Spotlights they can only wish to embrace in,
A stage meant for a Star you can see,
Even if it’s dark while we’re caged in.
My Universe!
Where there is no escaping…

But,
If destroying one’s spirit is what gives you a grin?
All you deserve is a pair of Nike’s stomping on your chin!
Checked at the door for possession of another’s sanity.
Especially,
If it’s mine!
While I’m living in my Vanity.
It’s been a long time since I’ve ever felt glad to Be!
Who God kept giving Me the chance to Be!
Myself with a pen,
For a rappers’ head numbered when I’m capping off raps where I do rag on everything I am sad to see…
Others who can’t be happy in the face of another man’s peace…
