Do I Deserve some?

Imagine looking out for your 10 year old nephew.
Virtually all his life.
Knowing his smile makes you happy,
Still told you can’t see him again…
Said I wasn’t a parent and unable to know what that love feels like…

Never knew how to handle such pain,
So,
My only solution was taking my own life.
But,
When death was attempted,
All that was heard was,
“You’re too…
Weak!
If you do it…”

Sometimes,
All you really want is a hug.
Maybe an,
“I love you.”
A bit of reassurance.
But,
As you get older,
You learn that you can’t have everything you want in life.
Even,
If it’s just love…
